Sedalia, MO
Private Residence
This was an ongoing investigation that spanned four visits. This was also the first time a psychic advisor was brought in during an investigation. She was not told any of the claims or phenomena occurring at the residence or even the location. She did a "cold" reading and had an accuracy rate of 80-85%. She sensed the presence of an ancestor that was watching over the family. Her other findings will be kept private and not discussed in this report.
Personal Experiences
Team members saw shadows and darkening of rooms and hallway at different times during the investigations. On one occasion, two team members felt physically ill and a heaviness on their chest. There was one EMF spike during an investigation, but this might be attributed to a low battery. However, the battery was new at the beginning of the investigation and for some reason was drained. Otherwise, the EMF levels were mostly at 0.0.
Debunking
Claims: Family members and guests witnessed a shadow person of average to above-average height in several locations throughout the house. Unexplained sounds were also heard at different times. A downstairs door reportedly opened and closed on its own on two different occasions. The family and guests in the home felt like they were being watched. One family member reported being touched. A neighbor reported seeing lights going on and off in the middle of the night when all family members were asleep. Other electronic phenomena was also being reported.
Debunking: Team members were not able to completely debunk any of the claims. However, the claim of the door opening and closing could be attributed to a vacuum effect, especially if the weather was windy. The electrical and electronic problems could be just that and nothing paranormal. However, the light that was seen by the neighbor is on a lever-type dimmer switch. It makes this claim difficult to debunk. Sounds heard could be attributed to the house settling, outside noises filtering in, etc. The shadow person seen by family members and guests is also a difficult claim to debunk, as this occurred on several occasions and in different locations within the house. It cannot be attributed to just some trick of the light. The family member being touched is also a difficult claim to debunk.
Audio
One EVP was captured on the first investigation. There is a male voice that clearly says "watch!" There were times when traces of whispers were also heard. However, those were very faint and could have logical explanations.
Video
There was one light phenomena that cannot be totally explained. It doesn't appear to be a reflection, as it's not on a wall and there were no lights from the outside or flashlights on to cause it. Several times when there was no one present in the house, the IR camera goes in and out of focus for no apparent reason. This might be a malfunction of the camera, but there were times when unexplained sounds occurred simultaneously.
Orb with Footsteps
conclusion
We believe the family is experiencing legitimate phenomena. There have been too many reports from family and guests to dismiss all of them. However, the experience seem to escalate and wane at times. We also ten to agree with our psychical advisor that it could be an ancestor just watching over the family. Even though it may be unnerving at times to witness unexplained events, the family has no reason to be fearful of the activity.

Sedalia, Missouri
Private Residence
This was a two part investigation of an approximately 100 year old home on the East side of Sedalia. The owner of the home is a single parent who has had many difficulties in her life. The investigators on this case believe these problems are fueling the paranormal activity. Our psychical advisor performed a cold reading on the premises. She drew many of the same conclusions that the team did from what the clients told us during the pre-investigation interview.
Personal Experiences
The team members felts a little uneasy in one of the upstairs rooms during the first evening's investigation. However, that subsided over time. EMF members remained near 0.0 during both outings.
Debunking
Claims: Stomping noises, voices, etc. coming from the 2nd floor. These occurred both during the day and night, more so when there was upheaval in the home. Voices have also been heard at different times.
Debunk: The team attempted to simulate the stomping noises. It took a deal of hard walking on the 2nd floor to make the sounds the clients claimed to hear. The house is well insulated in this respect. However, the house sits along a major highway, so anomalous sounds from outside can easily be heard.
Audio
During an EVP session on the first evening, you can hear an male voice say "no."
On the second evening, it is a female voice that says "no."
In this audio clip, you will hear a knock in response to a question.
In this EVP, you will hear "help me."
In the final audio clip, you will hear a knock.
Video
No video was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
The investigators believe there is paranormal activity at the location. Whether this is a haunting or not is debatable. With the amount of turmoil that has been happening with this family, it's possible that something has attached itself to the location or possibly the people there. The owner is getting some much needed help. Hopefully, things in her life will turn for the better and the activity will lessen or cease.

Warrensburg, Missouri
private residence
This was a two part investigation of a 100+ year old home. The house has been in the same family for nearly 30 years. The house contains three households' worth of furniture and belongings. Our psychical advisor was brought in to clarify some issues brought forth by the family. She discovered some information the clients did not know about, but related to circumstances that they were aware of.
Personal Experiences
During the initial walk through and EMF sweep, one of the team members felt like there was a presence in the upstairs hallway. There were EMF spikes on the K2 meter at the same time. There were many EMF spikes that were unaccounted for. However, it was also determined that there were areas of high EMF, probably due to a central air conditioning unit.
Debunking
Claims: Occupants of the house claim to have seen apparitions and shadow figures, heard talking and growling sounds coming from the attic. Footsteps in the attic were also heard frequently. The clients had taken photos that looked "demonic."
Debunk: The photos that had been taken by the clients were determined to be tricks of the light and not "demonic."
Audio
No audio evidence was captured during the investigation.
Video
No video evidence was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
Even though no definite evidence was obtained, the clients are convinced that there is paranormal activity. However, this is very difficult to prove without concrete evidence.

Ellisnore, Missouri
Undisclosed Location
This investigation was conducted by two of our team members. This location is in a very small town near the Missouri "bootheel." Therefore, general information will be kept to a minimum. This building has housed various businesses over the last 80+ years.
Personal Experiences
The investigators, along with the clients, heard what sounded like country or bluegrass music. However, the music seemed to come from outside the building. When the team members stepped outside, the music stopped. There were electrical disturbances that occurred during the initial walk through and the night of the investigation. No voices were heard by the clients or investigators.
Debunking
Claims: Clients have heard voices as if they were in an actual conversation. There have been reports of music playing when there are no radios or devices turned on. Electrical disturbances have been reported and footsteps in the attic have also been heard.
Debunk: The team was unable to debunk any of the claims.
Audio
During the review of evidence, two sounds were discovered.
One is of a "sigh."
audio clip coming soon
The second is the sound of footsteps.
audio clip coming soon
Video
No video evidence was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
Even though there isn't enough evidence to convincingly say the location is haunted, there does seem to be paranormal activity occurring. If there is any haunting present, it is probably residual.

Sedalia, Missouri
private residence
This investigation involves a family living in a church-owned dwelling. This house is approximately 60 years old and has had numerous tenants over the years. What is now the master bedroom and utility room was once the garage.
Personal Experiences
The investigators had several personal experiences involving feelings of being watched, seeing shadows, etc. The two main areas of activity were the master bedroom and one of the children's bedroom. The family reported activity in other parts of the house, but nothing occurred there during the investigation.
Debunking
Claim: Shadows seen in the hallway off the living room/dining room area.
Debunk: Because the home is in close proximity to a well traveled street, light through the windows cast shadows on the walls. However, this does not explain the shadow mentioned above seen by one of our team members.
Audio
This EVP was discovered while the team was settling in to begin the investigation. The recorder was lying on the floor about arm's length away and no one was whispering at the time.
In this clip, two investigators were conducting an EVP session in the master bedroom. Following the question, you hear what sounds like a faint sigh.
Video
During the investigation, a stationary camera was placed in the master bedroom. The camera picks up a noise that was not made by any of the team members during this time.
Sound
A stationary camera night vision camera was set up in one child's bedroom. Before the investigation went "lights out," and after some time when there was no one present in the bedroom, the camera jiggles and within a second or two, a ball that was placed on a pedestal falls off. If you look closely, you can see the IR light dim just before it happens.
Ball
In yet another clip involving the ball, we noticed that the camera itself is being moved and jiggled around. None of the investigators were present in the room during the recording. About half way through, you will then hear what sounds seems to be an "hum."
Hum
Conclusion
With the evidence gathered, it is difficult to say whether this location is haunted or not. The team is divided on the final judgment. However, there does seem to be paranormal activity happening.

Kansas City, Missouri
John Wornall House and& Museum
This investigation covered the original home and the carriage house that is located to the rear of the property. The original property encompassed several hundred acres and the house was used as a field hospital by both the Union and Confederates during the Battle of Westport. There have been reports of shadows, apparitions and unexplained voices by people who have visited and people who work there.
Personal Experiences
At times, some of the investigators felt like they were being watched-that they weren't the only ones present in a location. However, no one described being "uncomfortable" or feeling threatened.
Debunking
None of the claims were debunked by the team.
Audio
There were several disembodied voices that were captured in both the home and the carriage house. These are as follows:
This voice was captured in the carriage house when two investigators were doing a preliminary walk through. The investigators stopped at the bottom of the stairs when the voice of a woman says "right there."
This EVP was also captured in the carriage house during an EVP session in the upstairs area.
Another EVP from the carriage house, which follows the question "what's your name?" You will hear what sounds like two separate voices that say "nothing" followed by "yes you did." One of the investigators thought that someone had coughed outside, but discovered this EVP upon review.
This EVP, also in the carriage house, was captured as three of the team members were leaving the upstairs and heading back to the main house. This is a great example of an intelligent entity response.
During an EVP session in the main house kitchen, this EVP of someone breathing very close to the mic was captured.
Towards the end of an EVP session in the kitchen, a male voice is heard whispering "out!"
Video
No video evidence was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
The team feels that there is a good probability that the location is haunted, due to the many experiences people have felt there over the years. It is probably a combination of residual and intelligent hauntings. However, we feel the intelligence is rather weak and needs to build up a lot of energy to manifest itself. It seemed that after a certain amount of time, the activity waned greatly, giving an indication that it is weak.
October 23, 2010
Brunswick, Missouri
private residence
This investigation involves a family dwelling that was built around 1920. Claims of shadows figures, voices, feelings of being watched, etc. have been reported by the family that presently lives in the home. In fact, during the initial walk through and interview there were huge EMF spikes recorded that couldn't be explained. Also, at the reveal there were unexplained knocking sounds on the wall between the living room and the master bedroom.
Personal Experiences
Two of the investigators were in the master bedroom where much of the activity has been reported. After doing approximately 30 minutes of EVP work, the room suddenly got extremely dark and sound seemed to be in a vacuum. During this time, some disembodied voices were captured on audio. Many EMF spikes were captured on several meters. The PX also went off several times in the master bedroom and in the living room later when the family members returned.
Debunking
The house is not well-insulated and sits near the main area of town. Therefore, some of the sounds that have been reported could be attributed to external sources.
Audio
The first clip was captured in the living room, where two investigators were doing an EVP session with the PX machine.
These three EVP's were captured during the recording session in the master bedroom in which in the room got darker.
This EVP was captured in one of the back bedrooms.
These disembodied voices were captured where the investigators left the recorder running as they took a break and began to wrap up the investigation.
Video
No video evidence was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
With the audio evidence collected, personal experiences and EMF fluctuations, it is the opinion of the team that this location is haunted. However, we feel that the entity or entities are not malevolent-only wanting to make their presence known.
October 25, 2010
Sedalia, Missouri
liberty center
This location has been investigated by SGH several times over the past few years. There have been many claims of people seeing shadows, hearing voices, music-even audience applause and laughter. There have been claims of objects moving by themselves and people being touched or pushed. This building is 90 years old and has been a theater of some kind for most of the time. the night of this investigation was very windy and stormy.
Personal Experiences
Some members of the class felt a presence at the back of the auditorium toward the end of the last group's investigation. Otherwise, no anomalous feelings were experienced.
Debunking
None of the claims were debunked by the team.
Audio
Because of the winds exceeding 50 mph, the audio was greatly corrupted. No disembodied voices were captured.
Video
No video evidence was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
Even though nothing of consequence was captured during the investigation, other investigations have yielded evidence of paranormal activity. The team believes that the majority of the shadows, voices, sounds, etc. that have been experienced are residual in nature. The other claims might possibly be intelligent, but there isn't sufficient evidence to prove one way or the other. The student in the class are to be congratulated and thanked for their efforts.

Arrow Rock, Missouri
Spirits, Shadows and Secrets
The early evening consisted of four dinner presentations where SGH described investigative procedures, equipment used and evidence from previous investigations. Later, a ghost hunt covered three locations: the Lyceum Theatre lobby, the J. Huston Tavern and the Switzler House (which was originally a slave cabin.) For more information on the history of the house, please visit www.switzlerhouse.com. The Switzler House will be opened as a Bed & Breakfast beginning in the spring of 2011.
Personal Experiences
Very little evidence or experiences occurred at the Theatre. When the second group wen to the Tavern, the K2 meters and Tri-field meter went off many times, simultaneously. The PX also put out a few words, but those cannot be attributed to the EMF spikes. When this same group when to the Switzler House, EMF spikes again occurred, along with a flashlight (that was lying on one of the slats of the bed) turning on by itself. It is interesting that the experiences occurred with the same group in both locations.
Debunking
Regarding the EMF spikes when the second group was in the Tavern: the investigators continually asked the group if all cell phones and electronic devices were turned off. All participants said they were turned off. We felt this could be causing the unusually high spikes. However, since the Tri-field meter was also sounding many of the same times as the K2's were flashing (the Tri-field meter is not affected by cell phones, etc.) and because many of the "responses" immediately followed questions, we feel that these were legitimate responses.
Audio
Several EVP's were captured in the Switzler House. These responses are broken down into the different groups as they investigated the cabin.
Group 1
Group 2
Group 3
video
No video evidence was captured during the investigation.
Conclusion
From evidence collected previous investigations of the J. Huston Tavern evidence and experiences at this particular evening's activities, and evidence collected at the Switzler House, we believe the two locations to have paranormal activity. At this time, the Lyceum Theatre lobby appear to not have activity. Two evenings of ghost hunts will again be sponsored in October, 2011.
