Villisca Axe Murder House
July, 11 2009-July 12, 2009

We are dedicating an entire page of our website to our
investigation of the Axe Murder House in Villisca, Iowa.  This
investigation was different from previous sites in so many ways.
It was enjoyable yet intense at the same time.  The team decided
before starting the investigation that there would be absolutely
no provocations made to any entities that might be present.
Considering the horrific crime that took place there nearly a
century ago, we wanted to extend the utmost courtesy and
respect to the spirits that lost their lives.  In the process,
however, we wanted to keep the atmosphere as light as possible.
With this in mind, we decided to use a manner of
communication that would hopefully transcend time - music.
Our Lead Investigator, Britt (who is a music teacher), played old
hymns and period songs on the old upright piano.  The team
sang along (even if they didn't sing well!)  This seemed to lighten
the atmosphere and generated many responses.  We feel this
procedure added to our overall experience and that the entities
present enjoyed themselves, too.  We hope they will find the
peace and rest they deserve.

Experiences:

Oh, where do we start?!  Many, many responses to questions posed via
the K2 meters and Tri-Field meter.  From questions posed, we believe
there were several entities present - especially some of the children.  The
responses received at times were very precise.  The investigators also
heard anomalous sounds and felt presences.  Sometimes these could be
verified by EVPs and EMF spikes.

Debunking:

None.

Audio:

There were 4 digital audio recorders running during the investigation.
These were placed in the kitchen/pantry, living room, "blue" room (off of
the living room) and in the children's bedroom upstairs.  We feel that
many of the recordings are residual in nature.  There are some unusual
sounds - even a couple that tug at your heart considering the
circumstances surrounding the location.  There were occurrences of
sounds when the house was completely empty - including 2 piano keys
sounding.

Video:

There are numerous visual confirmations of EMF responses.  These
occurred on both the K2 and Tri-Field meters.
